Event Info
Hello Teams,
We are excited to announce an event packed with fun activities! Join us on Thursday, and have your players ready to participate in the following events:
- **Home Run Derby:** Fences will be set at 190 feet. Players can choose to hit off their coach or a pitching machine. Each player will get 10 pitches in the first round. The top three hitters will advance to the second round, and the top hitter in that round will be declared the winner.
- **Road Runner:** This event will determine the fastest player running the bases from home, around the bases, and back to home plate.
- **Around The Horn:** Select five players to participate. The clock will start when your pitcher throws the ball to the catcher at home plate. The catcher will then throw to third base, third to second, second to first, first back to the catcher, and finally, the catcher will throw back to the pitcher to stop the clock. All players must be on or touch their base/rubber before throwing to the next base or stopping the clock. This is a team event, and teammates are allowed to back up players for overthrows; however, the ball must return to the base to be touched.
- **Prospect 360:** We will create a player profile for your athletes and start collecting their metrics. This profile page will follow each player as they develop, allowing them to see their progress and how they compare with other players their age across the United States. This data can also be collected throughout a player’s career and sent to thousands of colleges, providing a great advantage for your athletes.
We invite you to come see how your young team measures up. Don’t miss this first annual event; it’s the only opportunity for your team to participate in this exclusive 8U competition. The 8U class of 2025 is a strong group, and this should be a great experience.
With San Luis Obispo located on the Central Coast, we are gathering teams from Northern and Southern California to come together and see who will be crowned champions.
We expect over 32 teams, and we plan to divide them into brackets that will be determined later. Most teams will play one game on Friday and two on Saturday. On Sunday, teams will be seeded into brackets, which will be determined based on the number of teams in each division.
We are striving to make this event special for your young players, so let’s make it a weekend to remember!
Please do not hesitate to contact the director if you have any questions. Kindly do not reply to this email. We hope to see you there!.
