Labor Day Spectacular

     Sandlot Sports will list below some rule adaptations from the Southeast Region Rules. We will also have the rules on our website www.sandlotsportsbaseball.com to be viewed at any time. 

     Reminder there is a $10/adult daily gate fee and the teams are only awarded 3 coaches passes for the weekend. 

      Please make sure your teams roster and insurance has been uploaded and approved online by the Friday before the tournament. We have a lot of still pending items that need to be covered so things run smoother. 

     Team rosters will be frozen by start of pool play games. So teams need to have their roster uploaded by then. Any pick ups that need to be made before your games on Saturday due to injury or illness need to go through the director. There will be no pick up players allowed for Sunday. Whatever you play with Saturday or that is on your roster is who you will have available for Sunday. 

Game times are 7u/8u are 60 minutes no new after 55. Kid pitch 9u-12u divisions are 1 hour and 20 mins no new after 1 hour 10 mins. 13u-15u divisions are 1 hour 45 mins no new inning after 1 hour 40 mins. 

Sandlot Sports mercy rules:

20 runs after 1 complete inning

15 runs after 2 complete inning

12 runs after 3 complete inning

8 runs after 4 complete inning

Pitching:

In all kid pitch divisions: No player that pitches more than 3 innings on Saturday is eligible to pitch on Sunday. No more than 27 outs can be pitched in total all weekend.

In 7-8u coach pitch divisions the pitching coach must leave the field of play into foul territory when a ball is put into play. No standing in the center of the field coaching players leave that to your base coaches. 

13u Division:

     For the 13u age division we will try and align with middle school rules of this area as best we can. This means bats must be -8/-5/-3. No -10 bats are allowed after 12u age divisions. Also metal cleats are allowed.

Grade Exemptions:

We will only up to 2 grade exemptions on the rosters. If you have a player listed as a grade exemptions then you need to have some sort of paperwork from the school, on school letterhead or a report card that has the players full name and grade that is recently dated in case the player eligibility is questioned. Without the paperwork we cannot fully verify the grade exemptions and the player will be deemed ineligible. 

Weather:

As always we will do everything in our power to combat the weather if that means schedule adjustments or having to change the tournament format. We will communicate as quickly as possible any changes that are made and still give appropriate time for things that may more drastically effect teams coming in etc. Also in Sandlot Sports tournaments we consider 2 innings to be a complete game if affected by weather. After 2 innings we will revert the scores back to the LAST COMPLETE inning. Example being if you're midway through the 4th when it's called the score will revert back to the end of the third inning. As far as Championship games go if they get rained out and not even played we will using seeding to determine placement. Example 1 seed versus a 3 seed the 1 will be Champions and 3 will be finalists. Weather is the one thing that is completely out of our control so we try to make this process smooth as possible.
