The NCS West Coast Prospect Games is the premier individual-player event on the West Coast — designed to identify, develop, and celebrate the next generation of baseball talent.

Hosted in San Diego, California, players will compete in showcase-style games, participate in skills evaluations, home run derby  and represent their region against other top prospects from across the western United States.

This event provides an unforgettable platform for athletes to perform, compete, and earn recognition under the NCS brand. 


PLAYER EVALUATION & SKILL ASSESSMENT METRICS


Why Player Evaluations Matter

Player evaluations provide families with a clear understanding of where their athlete currently stands compared to other players in the same age group.
They offer valuable insight and honest feedback, helping players identify:

  • What they are doing well

  • What areas need improvement

  • What to focus on during training and development

These assessments are a powerful tool for long-term player growth.


 General Athleticism

  • 60-Yard Dash: Key measurement of pure running speed and overall athleticism.


Hitting Metrics 

  • Exit Velocity: Speed of the ball off the bat (tee + BP).

  • Impact Momentum: Total momentum of the bat at impact, reflecting power.

  • Batting Practice Evaluation: Scouts review mechanics, balance, rhythm, and approach.



Fielding & Throwing

  • Arm Strength (Velocity): Measured with radar guns for all positions.

  • Pop Time (Catchers): Time from receiving the pitch to releasing the throw to 2B.


Pitching Metrics

  • Pitching Velocity: Fastball and off-speed speeds tracked live.

  • Pitching Mechanics: Delivery, arm action, command, and repeatability are assessed.
