Starting fall 2027, I-20 Sports will be running under PITCH COUNTS...not Innings. 

                                                                         


1. Game & Consecutive Day Limits

  • Daily Allowance Calculation: If an athlete pitches in a team's first game of the day, their remaining pitch allowance for Game 2 is calculated as:

    Game 2 Allowance=Daily Maximum - Pitches Thrown in Game 1

  • Game Limit: A pitcher may throw in a maximum of two (2) games per calendar day.

  • 3-Day Sequence Limit: Pitchers are strictly prohibited from making mound appearances on three (3) consecutive days, regardless of individual pitch counts or inning volume.


2. Mandatory Rest Protocols

  • Next-Day Rest Threshold: Any athlete throwing 36 or more pitches in a single day must take one (1) full calendar day of rest before pitching again.


3. Threshold Exceptions ("Finish the Batter")

  • Batter Completion Exception: A pitcher who reaches their daily threshold or next-day eligibility threshold (e.g., 35 pitches) mid-at-bat may complete the active hitter without forfeiting eligibility or exceeding the cap. It must be announced by the coach to the umpire that that pitcher is frozen once the pitch max has been reached. It is the sole responsibility of the coach to keep up with max pitches and limits.

  • Tracking Overhead Pitches: Additional pitches thrown to finish that specific batter beyond the limit will not count against the pitcher's total or alter their rest status.

  • Exiting the Mound: The pitcher must be replaced immediately following the conclusion of that plate appearance before the next batter steps in.


4. Coach & Umpire Verification Requirements

  • Active Verification: Head coaches are required to verify pitch counts with official site personnel or the home plate umpire—specifically checking if a pitcher was designated under the "Threshold" rule.

  • Post-Game Confirmation: Prior to signing official post-game cards, managers must review recorded pitch totals to verify player eligibility for upcoming games.

  • Forfeited Games: All pitch counts accumulated during games that end in a forfeit remain active and count directly toward player limits.


5. Violations & Penalties

  • In-Game Removal: An ineligible pitcher who throws a single recorded pitch beyond their allowed threshold must be taken off the mound immediately upon discovery.

  • Manager Discretionary Penalty: If an infraction is determined to be intentional or flagrant by tournament leadership, the head coach is subject to immediate ejection.

  • Escalating Penalties:

    • 1st Offense: Ineligible pitcher removed, head coach ejected from the current game (possibly).

    • 2nd Offense (Season): Immediate game forfeit.

    • 3rd Offense (Season): Team suspension for the remainder of the tournament calendar.


6. Official Protests & Tracking

  • Official Record: All pitch counts posted to the official event platform serve as the single authority for tracking and compliance.

  • Filing an In-Game Protest:

    1. A formal protest must be submitted while the contested pitcher is actively on the mound.

    2. The manager must notify the home plate umpire.

    3. The field umpire will escalate the issue directly to the Site Director for an official ruling.

  • Prior-Day Inquiries: Questions or disputes regarding recorded counts from a previous day must be submitted prior to the team’s first game of the following day.


7. Safety Recommendations

  • Dual-Role Caution: It is strongly recommended that players avoid working as both a catcher and a pitcher within the same game.

  • Daily Appearance Standard: To minimize repetitive strain, managers are encouraged to limit pitchers to one (1) game appearance per day whenever possible.

  2. UPLOAD AND SUBMIT A COPY OF TEAM INSURANCE.  **STARTING THIS SEASON, YOU HAVE TO HAVE INSURANCE LOADED TO PLAY.  NO MORE PAYING $20 TO SKIP OUT ON INSURANCE.  IF YOU PURCHASED IT THROUGH ANOTHER SANCTION, IT CAN BE LOADED ON YOUR TEAM PAGE UNDER THE INSURANCE TAB.**
  3. COMPLETE AND UPDATED ONLINE PLAYER ROSTERS
  4. SUBMIT ENTRY FEE PAYMENT BY THE MONDAY BEFORE TOURNAMENT DATE.


3 or 4 GG ENTRY FEE:

  • 7u & 8u = $200  /  9u & Up = $240
  • NO PAP!!!  That's right, we are paying umpires!  Once payment is made, nothing else is asked for.  You may even come out ahead if you play more than 4 games!!

GENERAL ADMISSION:

  • DAILY PASS:  $10.00 for 12u and Up.  11u & Under Free!
  • 3 Coaches per Team and Uniformed Players enter for free.


TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

  • 3 Game Guarantee
  • Saturday: 2 Pool Games 
  • Sunday:  Single Elimination Bracket Games


POOL OR BRACKET GAMES:

  • Saturday 7u & 8u 60 mins / 9u-14u 85 mins, Finish the Inning
  • Sunday 7u & 8u 70 mins / 9u-14u 90 mins, Finish the Inning
  • All teams must be available and ready to play at any time from Saturday at 8:00am to Sunday at 10:00 pm.
  • All games must start at their scheduled times unless otherwise approved by one of the tournament directors.
  • Teams should be ready to play 15 minutes prior to game scheduled time and can be asked to if we are running ahead of time.
  • Game Clock starts at the conclusion of the plate meeting. 
  • No 5-minute grace period to end the game early.
  • Games must go the complete time limit, unless 5-6 innings or run ruled.


PRIZES & AWARDS:

  • GOLD Division Champions: 12 Champions Rings 
  • SILVER Division Finalist: 12 Finalist Rings 
  • MVP Awards for the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament for each team in the championship game 


VENUE RESTRICTIONS:

  • No Metal Cleats or Metal Spikes are allowed on portable pitching mounds and/or any turf surfaces.
  • No Food &/or Drinks of any kind are allowed on any turf playing field, turf playing dugouts, and turf portable pitching mounds
  • NO SEEDS OR NUTS OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED INTO THE I-20 SPORTS COMPLEX


ALL TEAMS MUST SUBMIT PAYMENT, UPDATE ONLINE PLAYER ROSTERS, AND UPLOAD TEAM INSURANCE:

  • Submit Entry Fee Payment in Full by No Later than Monday prior to the event date.  All NCS Events are Pay First/Play First.

  • Please Complete and Update Online Player Roster. All coaches are responsible for filling out an online player roster.  Rosters are available until Thursday at 11:59 PM. Please submit your rosters as soon as possible. 
  • Please Upload and Submit a Copy of Team Insurance Policy. If you did not buy your policy through National Championship Sports, you must add NCS (entity below) as an additionally insured. You can do this free of charge by contacting your insurance provider. All insurance needs to be uploaded online. We are NOT accepting insurance at the event.

CANCELATION OF EVENT:

  • In the event of rain/weather or any act of God canceling the entire tournament, teams will be issued a credit towards a future I-20 Sports Tournament.
  • In the event of rain canceling a tournament already in progress, a team may receive partial credit based on the amount of games played.  1 Game played OR started = 1/2 Credit, 2 Games played or started = NO REFUND.
  • In the event of a paid team canceling prior to tournament, the team will receive credit towards the future I-20 Sports Event.


NO METAL CLEATS ALLOWED:

  • No metal cleats for teams 12u and under.
  • No metal cleats on portable turf mounds.
  • No metal cleats on any turf fields &/or surfaces.


OFFICIAL LINE-UP/SCORECARD:

  • An OFFICIAL LINE-UP/SCORECARD must be filled out by each team and exchanged at the Home Plate meeting or before the beginning of each game. 
  • All players participating in the game must be entered on the OFFICIAL LINE-UP/SCORECARD to be eligible to participate in the game. 
  • Any player arriving after the start of a game must be listed on the OFFICIAL LINE-UP/SCORECARD that was turned in prior to the start of the game. 
  • Late players may be added to the OFFICIAL LINE-UP/SCORECARD at any time during the course of the game. However, they must be added before they are eligible to play.
  • All players on OFFICIAL LINE-UP/SCORECARD must be active online to be eligible to play.
  • BATTING:  The player will be called out and must be added to The Official Line-Up/ScoreCard as a substitute.
  • DEFENSE: No penalty and must be added to The Official Line-Up/ScoreCard as a substitute.


TIE GAMES:

  • Pool Play: TIE stands.
  • Bracket Play & Championship Games:  Loaded bases with the last 3 batters and 1 out, batter’s count 0-0.


MERCY RUN RULES IN ALL DIVISIONS:

  • 15 runs after 2 complete innings of play (14 for 7u & 8u).
  • 12 runs after 3 complete innings of play.
  • 10 runs after 4 complete innings of play.
  • 8 runs after 5 complete innings of play.


BAT WEIGHT LIMITATIONS:

  • All Wood and/or Non-Wood Bats stamped with any of the following:
    (BBCOR .50), (USSSA 1.15 BPF), (USA Baseball).
  • 4u-12u: No weight restrictions
  • 13u D3: No bats lighter than -8
  • 13u Open: No bats lighter than -5
  • 14u-18u: No bats lighter than -3 max (BBCOR ONLY)


HOME TEAM:

  • Coin Flip in all Pool Play games.
  • Single Elimination Bracket Play Games
  • High Seed chooses (Home/Visitor) in all Single Elimination Bracket Play Games INCLUDING the Championship Game.
  • Double Elimination Bracket Play Games:
    • High Seed chooses (Home/Visitor) in all Double Elimination Bracket Play games EXCEPT the Championship Game.
    • The undefeated team chooses (Home/Visitor) in the Championship Game. No "IF" game in Double Elimination Bracket
