Pine Tar Sports Tournament Information

Tournament Entry

  • No Pay at the Plate – Umpire fees are included in the tournament entry fee.

  • Teams are officially entered on a First Pay / First Play basis. Registration alone does not reserve a spot.

  • Divisions may sell out before the payment deadline.

Spectator Admission

Please Note: All gate sales are cashless.

Advance tickets or gate admission may be purchased by scanning the event QR code.

Daily Admission

  • $15 per person ➡️ Purchase HERE

    Event may not show up until Wednesday the week of the event

  • No additional taxes or convenience fees

Free Admission

  • Three (3) coaches per team - 4th coach and on must purchase daily entry

  • Uniformed players

  • Children 12 years of age and younger


Team Requirements

All participating teams must:

  • Be registered and sanctioned with NCS for the current 2025–2026 season.

  • Upload proof of team insurance.

  • Maintain a current online roster.

  • Pay the tournament entry fee by the Monday before the event.

  • Pay applicable daily gate admission.



Insurance Requirements

Teams carrying insurance outside of NCS must list the following as an Additional Insured:

Weekend-only insurance is not accepted.

Scheduling Expectations


Teams should be available:

Saturday: Beginning at 8:00 AM until completion of play

Sunday: Through 10:00 PM if advancing

Pine Tar Sports reserves the right to start games up to 15 minutes early in order to stay on schedule and maintain tournament flow.


Schedule requests must be submitted no later than Monday prior to the tournament.

Pine Tar Sports will make every effort to accommodate schedule requests in the order that paid teams are received. While we will do our best to honor all requests, accommodations cannot be guaranteed due to division size, field availability, and overall scheduling requirements.


Venue assignments may change to accommodate tournament growth.

If a team is mathematically eliminated during time-limit play, the game will end.



Game Clock

  • Clock begins immediately following the plate meeting.

  • No grace period.

  • A new inning begins if time remains on the clock before the third out.

  • Games conclude when:

    • Time expires

    • Regulation game is complete

    • Mercy Rule is reached

Mercy Rule

  • 20 Runs — At any point (Flip & Finish Inning)

  • 15 Runs — After 3 innings

  • 10 Runs — After 4 innings

  • 8 Runs — After 5 innings


Official Rules

All Pine Tar Sports tournaments are governed by the current NCS Central Texas Playing Rules.

Any situation not specifically addressed within the NCS Central Texas Playing Rules will default to the current NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) Baseball Rules.

The Tournament Director reserves the right to interpret and enforce all tournament policies and playing rules. All rulings by the Tournament Director are final.


Player Safety

Player safety is the highest priority at all Pine Tar Sports events.

Pine Tar Sports reserves the right to modify tournament rules, schedules, formats, time limits, or procedures whenever necessary to protect the safety and well-being of players, coaches, spectators, officials, and staff.

All player safety decisions made by the Tournament Director are final.



Tie Game Procedures

Pool Play

Games may end in a tie.

Bracket & Championship Games

International Tiebreaker Format

  • Bases loaded

  • Last three batters in the lineup occupy the bases

  • One out

  • 0–0 count




Home Team Determination

Pool Play

Home team determined by coin flip.

Bracket & Championship

Higher seed chooses Home or Visitor.



Official Lineups

Lineup cards must be submitted to the Home Plate Umpire before each game.

Players must:

  • Appear on the official online roster.

  • Be listed on the lineup card before participating.

  • Be listed prior to entering the game if arriving late.




Awards

Gold Division

  • Champion Rings (12)

Silver Division

  • Finalist Rings (12)

Championship Games

  • One MVP Award per team

Additional Awards

  • Championship Banners for Gold and Silver Division Champions




Venue Rules

  • No metal cleats on turf fields or portable pitching mounds.

  • No sunflower seeds on turf fields. Automatic ejection—no warning.

  • No food or drinks on turf fields, dugouts, or pitching mounds.




Protest Policy

A $100 cash protest fee is required.

If the protest is upheld:

  • Fee is refunded.

If the protest is denied:

  • Fee is forfeited.

Protests may involve:

  • Roster eligibility

  • Rule interpretation

Judgment calls by umpires are not protestable.
