TEAM REQUIREMENTS

All teams must:

• Be registered and sanctioned with NCS for the current 2025-2026 season.
• Upload proof of team insurance. Weekend-only insurance is not accepted.
• Complete and maintain an online roster.
• Pay the tournament entry fee by the Monday prior to the event. 

Outside Insurance Requirements

If your team carries insurance outside of NCS, please list the following as an Additional Insured:

First Pay / First Play Policy

All Pine Tar Sports events operate on a First Pay / First Play basis.

Registration alone does not guarantee a spot in the tournament. Teams are officially entered only after payment has been received. Divisions may sell out before the payment deadline

This event does not have Pay at the Plate, the team entry includes umpires.  

WEATHER POLICY

Weather-related credits will be issued as follows:

Games become official after 2 complete innings have been played.

CREDIT POLICY

Effective August 15, 2025

Pine Tar Sports no longer issues refunds. Credits only will be issued for future Pine Tar Sports events.

Credits may only be applied toward future Pine Tar Sports tournaments and do not expire.

PAYMENT, ROSTERS & INSURANCE

GAME TIME LIMITS

GENERAL ADMISSION

All gate sales are cashless.

Admission

• Daily Pass: $15.00

Free Admission

• Three coaches per team
• Uniformed players
• Children 12 years old and younger

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

3-Game Guarantee

Saturday

• Two Pool Play Games

• Single-Elimination Bracket Play

Scheduling Expectations

Teams must be available:

• Saturday: 8:00 AM until completion of play
• Sunday: Until 10:00 PM if advancing

Teams should be ready to play at least 15 minutes before their scheduled game time.

Game Clock

• Starts immediately following the plate meeting.
• No grace period.
• A new inning begins if time remains on the clock.
• Games will continue until the time limit expires, a regulation game is completed, or the mercy rule is reached.

• One MVP Award per team

Additional Awards

• Championship Banners for Gold and Silver Divisions

VENUE RULES

• No metal cleats on turf surfaces or portable pitching mounds.
• No food or drinks on turf fields, dugouts, or pitching mounds.

OFFICIAL LINEUPS

Lineup cards must be submitted to the Home Plate Umpire before each game.

All players must:

• Appear on the official online roster.
• Be listed on the lineup card before participating.

Late-arriving players must be listed prior to entering the game.

TIE GAME RULES

Pool Play

Games may end in a tie when time expires.

Bracket & Championship Games

International Tiebreaker Format:

• Bases loaded
• Last three batters in the lineup occupy bases
• One out
• 0-0 count

MERCY RULE

• 20 runs at any point (flip and finish inning)
• 15 runs after 3 innings
• 10 runs after 4 innings
• 8 runs after 5 innings

HOME TEAM DETERMINATION

Pool Play

Home team determined by coin flip.

Bracket & Championship Play

Higher seed chooses Home or Visitor.

PROTEST POLICY

All protests require a $100 cash protest fee paid to the Tournament Director.

• If the protest is upheld, the fee will be refunded.
• If the protest is denied, the fee will be forfeited.

Protests may involve:

• Roster eligibility
• Rule interpretations

Judgment calls by umpires are not protestable.

PLAYER SAFETY POLICY

Player safety is the top priority at all Pine Tar Sports events. Pine Tar Sports reserves the right to modify, suspend, or adjust any tournament rule, format, game procedure, time limit, or schedule at any time when deemed necessary for the safety and well-being of players, coaches, spectators, officials, or staff.

All player safety decisions made by the Tournament Director are final.
