We appreciate your trust and support and are excited to welcome your team to Portland, Texas for the 2027 NCS South Coast World Series — Session 1.

WELCOME TO PORTLAND, TEXAS

Portland has quickly become one of the Texas Gulf Coast’s premier destinations for youth baseball, offering quality facilities, competitive baseball, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

Located just minutes from Corpus Christi and the Texas Gulf Coast, Portland gives teams and families plenty to enjoy both on and off the field.

The 2027 NCS South Coast World Series will bring teams together for six days of World Series baseball, championship competition, pin trading, skills contests, a Home Run Derby, and unforgettable memories.

We look forward to hosting your team and providing a championship experience your players and families will remember.

Additional information regarding the Coaches Meeting, Opening Day activities, Skills Competitions, Home Run Derby, and other World Series activities will be announced as the event approaches.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

5-Game Guarantee

Most teams will play more than five games.

4X NCS Ranking Points

Monday–Thursday: Pool Play Games
Friday–Saturday: Bracket & Championship Games

Games use a Finish the Inning format. There is no drop-dead time.

Teams should arrive at their assigned complex at least 30 minutes before game time.

4U–18U Regular Team Entry Fee: $795

Umpire fees are paid separately at the plate.

13U–14U: $55 PAP | 1:30 | 7 Innings

PAP = Pay at the Plate — CASH ONLY

PAP must be paid before each game.

NNI = No New Inning

The official game clock begins immediately after the plate meeting.

If time remains when the final out of an inning is recorded, the next inning will begin.

Schedule Requests:
Schedule requests cannot be accommodated. Limited exceptions may be considered for a $100 Schedule Request Fee per team per request, subject to approval.

Early registration, roster completion, insurance submission, and payment are strongly encouraged.

TEAM REQUIREMENTS

Before participating, each team must have:

  • Current NCS Sanction

  • Team Entry Fee Paid

  • Online Roster Completed by Sunday, June 20, 2027 at 11:59 PM

  • Team Insurance Uploaded OR $50 No Insurance Fee Paid

Only players listed on the official online roster may participate.

If team insurance was not purchased through NCS, the policy must list:

STAY-TO-PLAY POLICY

The NCS South Coast World Series is a Stay-to-Play tournament.

Teams requiring hotel accommodations must book through official NCS-approved hotel partners. Hotel booking links will be provided once room blocks are finalized.

The Stay-to-Play program is designed to provide participating teams with convenient lodging options, team-friendly policies, competitive rates, and proximity to tournament venues.

Housing Requirement

A minimum of 6 hotel rooms per team, per night is required to satisfy the Stay-to-Play requirement.

Stay-to-Play Buyout

Teams choosing to stay in an Airbnb, vacation rental, or non-partner hotel may do so by paying a:

Pitching

There are no official tournament pitching limitations.

Coaches are responsible for prioritizing player health and using responsible pitching practices throughout the event.

Game Balls

Two official NCS baseballs will be provided for each game.

Teams and spectators are asked to help retrieve foul balls promptly to prevent unnecessary game delays.

NCS Player of the Game Awards will be presented throughout the tournament.

CITY OF PORTLAND — FACILITY RULES

Please review and share all facility rules with your players, coaches, families, and fans before arriving.

  • No outside food, drinks, or personal coolers.

  • Players may bring one personal water jug or cooler up to 1 gallon.

  • Water only is permitted in dugouts and on artificial turf.

  • No sunflower seeds, shelled snacks, gum, candy, food, sports drinks, or soda on artificial turf or in dugouts.

  • No glass containers.

  • No metal cleats or spikes on artificial turf.

  • No soft toss or throwing baseballs against fences or facility structures.

  • No alcohol, smoking, tobacco, or vaping.

  • No pets. ADA service animals are permitted but are not allowed on playing fields.

  • No heaters, grills, cooking devices, or open flames.

  • No Bluetooth speakers, air horns, or loud music.

  • Cameras must be freestanding and may not be attached to fences or facility structures.

  • Lawn chairs and pop-up tents are permitted in designated spectator areas.

  • Tents may not be staked into artificial turf.

  • No recreational scooters or motorized vehicles inside the gates. ADA mobility devices are permitted.

  • Park only in designated parking areas.

  • No RVs, campers, or overnight parking.

  • Please dispose of trash properly and help keep the facilities clean.

Posted City of Portland rules and instructions from City or tournament staff take precedence.


LIGHTNING & SEVERE WEATHER

When the facility lightning warning system sounds, all activity must stop immediately and everyone must seek appropriate shelter.

Players, coaches, spectators, and staff may return to the fields only after the official all-clear signal has been given.

SPORTSMANSHIP & CONDUCT

NCS maintains a ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY regarding inappropriate, abusive, threatening, or unsportsmanlike behavior.

Players, coaches, parents, or spectators may be removed from the facility or tournament for:

  • Fighting or physical altercations

  • Threats or intimidation

  • Abusive or inappropriate language

  • Harassment

  • Disorderly conduct

  • Property damage

  • Failure to follow tournament or facility staff instructions

Our goal is to provide a competitive, safe, family-friendly championship environment for everyone.

TRAVEL REMINDER

Teams traveling to Portland should plan accordingly.

Recommended Arrival: Sunday, June 20, 2027
Tournament Games: Monday, June 21 through Saturday, June 26, 2027
Recommended Departure: Sunday, June 27, 2027

Teams should not schedule departure travel until after their potential championship games are completed.

Schedule requests cannot be accommodated. Limited exceptions may be considered for a $100 Schedule Request Fee per team per request, subject to approval.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All payments are final. No refunds will be issued.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, including severe weather or other situations outside the tournament's control, tournament credits may be considered at the sole discretion of the Event Director.
