TPS May Classic At Community Park (AA Event)

We're committed to promoting the Game of Baseball! We promote the game and the players through our Championship Events. By providing teams and their supporters with high quality venues and well managed tournaments, teams compete with the best amateur baseball clubs in the Nation. 




Below is most of the information you will need and answers to the most common questions we receive.


Each team that signs up will receive a dozen NCS baseballs at Check in

When do I pay the tournament entry fee? 

All Triple Play Sports Baseball tournaments payments are due before your first game. If you choose to mail a check to avoid online credit card fees please call us and let us know, do not leave a message!

6U Rules

Batter - 3 pitches. 

Can swing at all 3

1 swing from a Tee

Where does catchers position; During the pitch- catchers can try and catch the ball. While ball is on Tee- stand back

Does the batter/runner and runners have to stop at the base or are they allowed to keep running until they stop running or time is called? 

If ball is hit from Tee, hitter and runners get 2 bases. 

Hit from pitch ball, they can keep running. 

Is there an arc in front of home plate that dictates whether a batted ball is considered a playable ball? 

There is a 10’ arc in front of the plate, measured from point of home plate. 

If the batter doesn’t hit the pitches, and hits from the tee the ball has to go beyond the arc or it’s a foul ball. 

Offense : 2 base coaches, 1 pitching coach, Pitching coach can talk to batter, then help when Tee is brought in. When the ball is hit, let the base coaches instruct the runner. 

Defense : 2 outfield coaches, 2 dug out

What’s the rule about number of players? Is 9 considered legal or do you have to take an out for the 10th batter? 9 is legal, 10 can play in field. If you start with 10 need to finish with 10. You can bat the whole line up. 

Time limit- Pool Play 55 minutes  /  Bracket play - 65

Mercy rule- 15 after 3 ; 10 after 4 ; 8 after 5 ; 7 runs per inning 



Rules

We play exclusively by NCS Rules National Championship Sports | Baseball | National Baseball Rules (playncs.com) with the exception of Pitching Rules which is detailed in the next section
We allow -5 bats in 14u D2 and D3
We play all 13u events at 54/80 unless otherwise noted
We do not allow metal cleats on any turf fields or temporary mounds.

Pitching Rules
9u-12u Players will have a total of 24 outs for the weekend. There is a max of 18 outs that can be pitched in 1 day. If you pitch 10 outs or more you are required to have a 1 day rest. 

Awards
All Gold Bracket Champions and Finalist will receive NCS Championship Rings
All Silver Bracket Champions and Finalist will receive NCS Medals or Rings
All Brackets receive team Championship Banners


How do i submit a schedule request?

Please submit all schedule request using the schedule request tab on the event menu. We will take schedule request until the Tuesday evening prior to the event. 

Can we bring outside food and coolers?
Yes, participants and fans are allowed to bring outside food and coolers excluding alcohol.

Can we bring our pets or comfort animals to the tournament?
Please call us to confirm some parks have different policies.

When are our rosters locked and what do I do if a parents forgets/neglects to sign the waiver prior to the cutoff?
All rosters are locked on the Friday evening prior to the event. All players must be listed on the public view teams page by the cutoff. Players that do not have signed waivers by the cutoff are not eligible to play! 

Behavior at the events
TPS  has a zero tolerance policy towards disrespectful and adverse behavior. Any fan, parent, player or coach will be ejected from the event for adverse behavior towards a tournament official or umpire.

TPS utilizes grass and skinned fields in and around the listed locations

Do I need team insurance?
Yes, if you did not buy your policy through National Championship Sports you must add NCS (entity below) as an additionally insured. You can do this free of charge by contacting your insurance provider. We must receive your insurance by the Friday prior to the event (email to support@travelsportsbaseball.com)
