1st Annual DFW 8U Blowout has reached max capacity 4 months prior to the event with 32 teams!!!
Why I am hosting this event:
After experiencing my first fall of 8U softball tournaments, I wanted to host an
event that I feel is EXACTLY what coaches, parents and players want/need. I’ve
ran baseball events for 15 years and the small details matter! I hope you will see
my attention to detail and LOVE this event!
DFW 8U BLOWOUT Tournament Rules
Game Rules:
2015 Birth Year Girls or Younger. No 2014 birth year or older girls allowed.
No bunting, slapping, slashing or stealing allowed
STOP THE LEAD RUNNER! Getting the ball back into the pitcher's circle DOES NOT stop the play!
Teams HAVE to bat the lineup. If there is a player in your dugout, she has to be in the batting order.
Back picks allowed. After the pitch, the catcher CAN throw to a base to get a runner that leads off too far.
Runners cannot advance a base on a back pick.
All pool games will be 60 min and finish the inning. Can end in a tie.
All bracket games will be 75 min and finish the inning.
No PAP. Umpires are paid by tournament director
6 runs max per half inning
Run Rule – 10 after 3 - 8 after 4 – 7 after 5.
Courtesy runner can be last batted out for catcher only
International Tie Breaker - Last batted out goes to 2nd base, 1 out, no count on batter. If the game goes another inning then it will start with bases loaded and 2 outs.
Facility Rules:
NO overnight vehicles/RV’s allowed at the tournament sites
$10 Daily Gate Fee for EVERYONE above 18 except the HEAD COACH and players!
No metal spikes, no seeds of any kind, no bubble gum.
Outside food and drinks ARE allowed
No pets unless you have service papers
Celina Location - No hanging items on the net behind home plate. Please bring a tripod.
Prosper Location - Chain Link fences behind home plate so you can hang items (cameras).
No Alcohol
Coaches are responsible for your fans. Abusive language or behavior WILL NOT be tolerated! If a parent is asked to leave the facility, the head coach goes as well for that game plus the next game.
Tournament Breakdown:
2 Pool Games and then teams are broken into 3 double elimination brackets.
16 Team Diamond Bracket
8 Team Gold Bracket
8 Team Silver Bracket
We will have a 5th game for any team that loses the first 2 bracket games.
Rings for bracket finalists and champions
MVP rings for pool play games and championship games
Coin flip for home team in pool play
Higher seed or undefeated team in championship is home team in bracket
Seeding goes off of in order - record, head to head, runs allowed, runs scored
Rain Policy:
Both complexes are full turf! However, lightning and continuous rain could be an issue.
No games played 100% refund
1 game played 75% refund
2 games played 50% refund
3 or more games played – No refund
